This project was an exercise in achieving photorealistic fidelity. I modeled the camera in Blender and textured it in Substance Painter with a few custom materials made in Substance Designer. It was important to focus on the small, subtle details that give an object life and character.

Then, I performed a 3D track of a small piece of footage I captured as well as an HDRI. From there, generated a mesh of the scene that I could re-project the footage onto. This made matching the lighting and diffuse reflection from nearby objects much easier. I rendered the camera with Karma and composited it into the shot with Nuke.
